DETECT.D: Thinking Ahead on IT Security
On 21 September 2026, DETECT.D – cyberLAGO’s cybersecurity conference – will take place for the first time at the Bodenseeforum in Konstanz. It is aimed at everyone responsible for IT security, from security engineers and IT managers to those in governance, risk and compliance roles.
From 10 am to 6 pm, sessions will take place across three stages, covering the current threat landscape, attack surfaces and offensive security, detection, response and forensics, secure architecture, regulatory frameworks such as NIS2, and AI as a tool. The programme also includes an expo featuring IT security service providers.
The keynote speech will examine cybersecurity in the context of geopolitical developments and will be delivered by Martin Kiebler (Ravensburg Police Headquarters) and Tizian Kohler (ADLON Intelligent Solutions GmbH). Michael Thumann from Bechtle GmbH Bodensee will objectively assess exaggerated claims about cybersecurity and AI in a ‘Myth Check’ session. To round off the event, Frederic Schier (RedFox InfoSec GmbH) will demonstrate a live hacker attack.
Sebastian Zechmair from the Munich Institute for IT Service Management demonstrates how organisations can systematically identify their own attack surface rather than merely estimating it. Tobias Glemser (secuvera GmbH, German OWASP Chapter) explains how to commission a penetration test so that the results are actually usable in the end. Prof. Dr Hanno Langweg from HTWG Konstanz draws lessons from the BadBox and Vo1d cases regarding supply chain and IoT security, whilst Dr-Ing Johann-Philipp Thiers from Swissbit discusses crypto-agility in embedded systems. The round-table discussions will feature Jürgen Birkle (doubleSlash Net-Business GmbH) on ‘Assume Breach’ in day-to-day operations and René Karcher (SECURITYSQUAD GmbH) on the question of when compliance truly provides protection. Further sessions are being added on an ongoing basis.
