Advertising by fake shops on their own platform is a major challenge for user-strong online portals. For this reason, Ebay Kleinanzeigen has chosen the technology company mindUp Web + Intelligence GmbH as a service provider for fake shop detection. mindUp GmbH, based in Konstanz on Lake Constance, is an expert in machine learning and data analysis. The cooperation is intended to minimise fraudulent advertising by fake shops and to better protect users of Ebay Kleinanzeigen from scams.
Behind mindUp are experienced experts who specialise in machine learning and automated knowledge extraction. As part of the cooperation, mindUp provides data sets on fake shops that Ebay Kleinanzeigen uses to enrich its own blacklists. Fraudulent advertisements can thus be blocked by the portal.

End consumers have already been able to use mindUp's online shop analyses on the website fakeshopfinder.de for a qualified analysis on the trustworthiness of a domain since August 2022.
