At the final meeting of the subproject Data Science 4 KMU within the framework of KMU Digital (Internationale Bodensee Hochschule Labs) at the University of Applied Sciences St. Gallen, results and recommendations for the use of data science in SMEs were discussed with business partners.

Numerous universities and research institutions from Austria, Switzerland and Germany worked together across national borders to answer questions on the use of data science in SMEs. For this purpose, extensive surveys and interviews with companies were carried out in order to get a picture of the current situation.

The great interest in the exchange between research, users and service providers is also reflected in the active participation of very different companies, such as Winterhalter, Sybit, ITficient, Berhalter and Regloplas. mindUp, data science provider from Constance, was represented by the founder and CEO Ralf Walther.  Summing up, he is positive about his participation: "The exchange at all levels is extremely important for us to be able to offer target-oriented and affordable services for SMEs. I find the results very exciting and would be pleased if the actual result state will be subject of further research"

The detailed final report has been announced for the beginning of 2020.
