cyberLAGO and IWT receive funding for the continuation of the KI-Lab Bodensee

| General | cyberLAGOAI

cyberLAGO, the network of digital experts in the international Lake Constance region, and IWT Wirtschaft und Technik GmbH receive funding from the Ministry of Economics, Labour and Tourism to make the KI-Lab Bodensee permanent. The aim of the KI-Lab Bodensee is to develop and expand AI competence in the SMEs of the region and to enable them to recognise and use individual AI potentials and to understand when AI is a solution and when it is not. With the follow-up funding of 199,995 euro, which runs from July 2022 to December 2024, the KI-Lab Bodensee will build on the previous concept from the pilot project and develop it further. The KI-Lab Bodensee is being expanded in its radius of action and now covers a total of four districts: Constance, Lake Constance, Ravensburg and Sigmaringen.

The future role of AI for SMEs is often underestimated and correspondingly low-threshold offers for access to AI are urgently needed. That is why mindUp has been actively supporting the projects of the KI-Lab Bodensee since the first phase.

Try out and experience AI

A unique selling point is the innovative showroom concept, which includes three local showrooms in Constance, Friedrichshafen and Ravensburg-Weingarten, a mobile showroom and a virtual showroom in the form of a walk-in fictitious company. In addition, a practical AI training course with trial elements is being developed for the showrooms. Within the framework of learning labs, problems are defined in regional focus areas and approaches to solutions are developed, which should lead to projects, cooperations and competence clusters. SMEs can also take advantage of offers to evaluate their own AI projects with the help of experts. The target group of the KI-Lab Bodensee is all SMEs from the region that want to gain access to AI, build up AI knowledge, recognise AI potential, try out AI, find AI experts, start AI projects or use AI to strengthen their own innovative power.

Regional artificial intelligence laboratories in Baden-Württemberg

"Artificial intelligence is a key technology worldwide. It offers huge potential for value creation and is crucial for the future competitiveness of the economy in the state," says Dr Nicole Hoffmeister-Kraut. "With the AI Labs, we want to achieve that economically viable AI solutions are applied even faster, in order to also strengthen the competitiveness of our SMEs." The Ministry of Economics, Labour and Tourism is funding the continuation and development of the regional AI Labs with around 3.1 million euros over a period of up to 30 months. The regional sponsors are contributing a total of around 1.3 million euro. The regional AI labs are part of the "Action Programme AI for SMEs" package of measures. This has the goal of supporting AI value creation and AI application in SMEs across all sectors.
